I've had a bottle of Dominic Hentall Terra Forte 2017 in the wine rack waiting for a special occasion since I tasted it at last summer's Liverpool tasting I just decided having a bottle of Dominic Hentall Terra Forte 2017 in the wine rack is a special occasion Cherries, Violets, Redcurrants and Blackberry Jam on the nose with Hints of Red Earth Cherries, Damsons, Plums, Raspberries and Redcurrants on the Palate with a hint of Raisins , Figs and Apricot Black Pepper, Cardamom, Cloves, Star Anise and Coffee on the finish with hints of Liquorice and Mixed Herbs I’ve previously regarded the Terra Calda as one of my favourite 3 Naked wines but this completely rewrites the script, Certainly the best wine I’ve tasted in recent years and trawling through my tasting note going back 30+ years I can only find the Ravenswood Wood Road Vineyard Zinfandel 1996 and Rainoldi Valtellina Inferno Riserva Superiore DOCG 1994 that I’ve rated more highly. Probably the highest praise I can give this wine is that after ½ a bottle I’m usually finding my enjoyment of the wine is fading and popping a Vacuvin seal in for the following day but tonight I’m enjoying it down to the last glass I’m really disappointed at having to give this 5 out of 5 hearts as I’d like to give it 10 hearts
