When our Wine Guy Ray came back from his epic discovery trip to South America, there was only one person he wanted to talk about… Natalia Poblete. A rising star of Chilean wine, she’s earned a burgeoning reputation in her country for her beautifully complex artisan wines. And she was even named Chile’s Young Winemaker of the Year in 2018.
We first tasted Natalia’s kit way back in 2019. It made us stop in our tracks and think ‘ooh, we could be onto something special here’. Fast forward to February 2023 and we asked her if she could knock-up a super-duper-delicious Chilean Merlot for our Angels. One sip and Ray got the little butterflies in his stomach. It was that good.
She’s a super-cool lady too, a bit like a Chilean version of Nina Stocker or Serena Cordero, with an incredible passion for her craft and quiet confidence in her own talent. We feel like we’ve reconnected with a long-lost member of the Naked family. And we’re so lucky to have crossed paths with Natalia when we did, because give it another few years and the whole world will be clamouring for her wines.
As a child of Chile’s bountiful Cachapoal Valley, Marcela Chandia always dreamed of making her very own wine using the region’s ‘exquisite’ grapes. And after a globetrotting education in wine which saw her hone her craft in New Zealand, South Africa, France, Portugal and the USA (phew!) she finally returned home to realise her dream in 2015.
Nestled in between the iconic Maopo and Colchagua Valley regions, Cachapoal flies a little under the radar compared to its more famous neighbours. But talented winemakers like Marcela are beginning to shine a spotlight on this up-and-coming region, with the potential to produce high-quality, fine Chilean wines for a snip.
Your new Queen of Carmenere, Marcela is a passionate champion of Chile’s flagship grape variety. In fact, it was the very first wine she made when she began her solo project back in 2015. She loves it for its potential to create wonderfully complex, vibrant, and velvety-smooth wines. And we reckon you’ll love hers for the exact same reason.

Making low-yield artisan wines isn't only Luca's passion. It's his way of life.

Born and raised in the rugged Priorat region of Catalonia, to an English dad and French mum, Luca got a winemaking Master’s degree in Bordeaux, where he lived in the middle of St Emilion. He’s since made wines on 3 continents, and speaks 5 languages fluently.
Over the years, Luca realised he had to unlearn a lot of stuff from wine school. Like using artificial additives, pesticides, man-made irrigation and fertilizers. He believes vineyards are like people. If left to nature, they have personalities that shine through in their wines.
To Luca, wine is the most social product man has ever made, pure emotion in a glass. A mirror of the soils and location it springs from. It brings our senses down to earth. With Naked funding behind him, he’ll be able to focus 100% on what he’s best at, making his old-vine Chilean classics taste as delicious as possible.
A winemaking veteran, Cristian leaves no stone unturned when it comes to his process. You’ll find him picking grapes, maintaining the vineyards, blending wine and everything in between.
Involved with legendary projects such as Calyptra and Valle Secreto, he has the key to creating delicious wines by championing Chile’s unique appellations.
Cristian fell in love with the Cachapoal Valley a while back: ‘What amazes me is the great diversity of terroir you can find along the valley. This has given me the opportunity to learn from each terroir and microclimate, making the experience winemaking very rich, challenging, and fun!’

Born and trained in Bordeaux, Jean-Pascal now makes wines in Chile, where he’s become a winemaking legend. Every delicious drop he touches ends up dripping medals and critical acclaim.
Back in 2008 when his main client went bust, Angels stepped in to save his bacon, and his vintage. Ever since, he’s been making award-winning wines specially for UK Angels.
How good is his kit? Well, in his spare time he also makes one of Chile’s most famous wines – the iconic Domus Aurea Cabernet Sauvignon. It sells for £40 and scores 90+ Parker Points every vintage. That good.
