Pago de los Balagueses Organic Syrah 2017
About the wine
Pure, moreish Syrah from one of Spain's most elite vineyards
- The first time Rodolfo tried Pago de Los Balagueses Syrah, he knew that he had made a true jewel. But he shouldn't have been surprised. It just so happens that this Syrah was grown on the very land Rodolfo grew up on, which has now been granted 'Vino de Pago' status. That makes it one of Spain's 17 most prized vineyards.
- The soil, microclimate, and long history of the vineyard are second to none. In fact there have been winemakers working in the area since the 5th century BC... how's that for established! Reflecting the land remains #1 to Rodolfo so organic and biodynamic production is essential.
- Grown at a high flying 700m above sea level, the Syrah has bright acidity and delicately soft tannins. Ripe black fruit and deep plum flavours are the main event, offset with elegance by cracked black pepper spice.
