Decanted for 2 hours and drunk over a further two: before, during and after food. Very inviting nose... deep purple in the glass, almost black! Quite a mouthful of blackcurrant and damson/plum, followed up with touches of blueberry/blackberry/liquorice... so much going on! Glacé cherry, orange, spices (including cinnamon)... with a very long finish. Food was simple: pork/beef meatballs, lettuce and hummus in a flour Tortilla wrap. I found myself drinking the wine mostly away from the meal. There was some debate about what the best food matches would be, suggestions being various cheeses, vanilla cheesecake and duck. The last half glass was liquid chocolate orange. It's great on its own! Very Christmassy.
