Well, this is what I wanted from a Sancerre. And really paying half the price you often will for a Sancerre of this quality. It has the smell and taste of lychee. You get a dry minerality but then the lovely fruit touches the side of your mouth for a delicate tropical finish. It was the perfect accompaniment with the fish dish I cooked; pan fried hake with steamed leek and kale and a white wine cream sauce. It’s so easy to drink it flows down all too easily. For its deliciousness and decent price for a Sancerre this gets top marks.
