The 2017 was fantastic and and so is the 2018. It's an opulent Du Pape brimming with dark fruit. Blackberry, plum, cassis, tobacco, and oak on the nose. More dark fruit on the palate with a little spice and vanilla. There are enough tannins to keep me happy but I'd go with medium. Some acidity in the mouth and topped off with a long finish. We had pork tonight with parsnip chips which went well with the wine.
