About the wine
To let fine wine like Eddy's disappear down the drain would be criminal... so we bagged the entire vintage
- Eddy's Paradis de Qanafar is not the kind of wine you see everyday by any stretch of the imagination. It's a small-vintage, boutique wine made using only the best kit to make its elegantly balanced flavours of fruit and spices sing.
- This treasure has already been aged for seven years, which has mellowed it into a complex wine with classic notes of tobacco leaf, cassis and cigar box on the nose and palate, followed through with a great deal of power. The flavours are deep and earthy, with dark chocolate and intense plummy notes.
- Years of conflict and economic decline has left Lebanon pretty much on its knees. Now some of the toughest lockdowns in the world have brought Eddy’s trade to local restaurants crashing down. When he reached out to our Covid Rescue Fund last year we knew we had to get some funds to him quick. By buying up this vintage of his wine we’ve kept his business going.
