About the wine
Mouthwateringly fresh and fruity whites like this are turning Custoza into a household name
-
Marica and her family have been making top-class Italian wines in the Custoza region for 3 generations. But being based in a little under-the-radar pocket of the Veneto, they’ve never got the attention they deserved. Things are starting to change now though, as wines like this stunning Bianco are starting to turn Custoza into a household name.
-
Made from a classy blend of native Italian grapes - Garganega, Cortese, Trebbianello, and Trebbiano Toscano - it’s an absolutely delicious white packed full of fresh and fruity flavour. You get mouth-watering hints of citrus, peach and pineapple, with a classy finish that lingers on the tastebuds.
-
For now, Custoza is still a bit of a hidden gem, so at just £9.99 a bottle you’ll struggle to find Italian wines of this quality anywhere at this price. But the experts are starting to cotton on - one of the Bonomos’ wines was even named in the Top 100 in the world by Wine Spectator recently - and once hundreds of thousands of Angels get a taste, it won’t be long before the whole world is raving about Custoza wines like this.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Marica Bonomo
-
Marica Bonomo is exactly the sort of person we love to support at Naked. A super-talented third generation winemaker at her family’s Veneto winery, which she runs with her siblings, parents and uncle.
-
Marica’s clan have been making top-quality Italian wines for 64 years. But until recently, they were a bit of a hidden gem. That’s because while Veneto is one of Italy’s most celebrated wine regions, home to iconic wines like Valpolicella and Amarone, Marica’s family are based around the lesser-known Custoza and Bardolino areas. So they’ve been long overshadowed by their more famous neighbours, despite having access to almost the exact same soils, climate and grapes.
- Thankfully, that’s now changing. Marica’s wines were recently named among the best in the world by experts from The Times and The Wine Spectator. And now, by connecting Marica with hundreds and thousands of eager UK Angels, her family wines are sure to finally get the love they deserve.
