Sam Linter's Story
Sam Linter's Story
"My parents started the vineyard when I was 4 years old, so grew up with it. Not knowing what to do on leaving school, I decided to do a hairdressing apprenticeship and trained to teach hairdressing. but the pull of the vineyard bought me back in 1995.
I started studying as a winemaker in 1996, as I became very interested in the wine we made and saw great potential for our wines.
There are many things I just love about my job, the creativity, the ability to turn grapes into a delicous wine. To keep discovering new techniques and developing more interesting flavours. To learn from others to and embrace new ideas.
Our love and passion for what we do makes our wines special, across the whole team at our wine estate. We are like a big family dedicated to making the best wine and keeping very good attention to detail.
We think you should drink them, not just because they are delicious but because the made with love and care and not by a big coporation, but a small boutique family estate which works with passion and great care in all that we do.
There have been lots of joys and sorrows along the way. We have won many international awards, just recently a 'GOLD Outstanding' in the International Wine and Spirit Competition. My mother died 5 years ago and she was a major inspiration (with my father) in starting the vineyard, she worked and cared for the vineyards for many years and started us off to where we are now. We all miss her very much.
I have to say though, one of our greatest achievements has to be winning the Zero to Hero winemaker award, and of course being the first UK winemaker on Naked Wines."
