Bernard Vidaler's Story
Bernard Vidaler's Story
I am from a wine growing family and I married a wine grower daughter, so the best thing to do was to carry on the family vocation!
I love being a winemaker as it is not original but working with and from the nature. The respect of the terroir is the a best and most effective way of being a way of being green winemaker.
I would go to any lengths to harvest my grapes, If I had to, I could work my vines with a horse, as last century. The administrative tasks are always more boring and I dread spring frost period and the damage it can do to my vintage!
The best bottle I ever drunk was with friends during hunting period and it was a Chteau Guitignan 1995 a December morning with a marvellous pt.
My finest winemaking moment was being on the same tasting table as Chteau Chasse Spleen and Poujeau, the more prestigious Moulis! If had to campare myself to any wine it would have to be a chteau Margaux, magnificent and sober!"
