Well, this was a pleasant surprise for me. On a personal basis, an old world French Merlot is not the sort of wine i'd usually go for...and frankly if i'm ever given one I would contemplate passing on to my brother in law who is a bit of a old world guru. But no, i thought...this is Naked and they always come up with something different so let's see. Had this with duck and wild boar (no, not on the same plate, on successive evenings!). What a pleasant surprise....has weight (but not too much, i'd say medium-full) and taste...slight fruit and low on the tannin...very drinkable and smooth....and at that price is a steal! A great autumnal/winter wine to go with red meat and game....maybe even Goose at Christmas?
