About the wine
Angels rescued Randy after the Napa quake
- A Rhone-inspired blend of Mediterranean white varieties (52% Grenache Blanc 32% Picpoul 16% Roussanne). This is Randy Hester's private project that gets every care and attention in the world.
- He gave us a special allocation of it as a thanks for rescuing him after the Napa Earthquake werecked his 2014 vintage. 100% of proceeds on this bottle go to Randy to help him recover from the quake.
- There's just a few cases left of this bad boy. If you're a Randy fan, stock up.
Best before
The 2013 Lightning CdP Blanc is absolutely delicious for drinking now, and I would suggest you drink yours by the end of Summer 2018. I am pretty curious to see how it might develop long term though. I think pushing it a few years further would produce some very interesting results.
Serving advice
Let it open up for about 15 minutes and serve it around 45-50F*.
Food match
This wine pairs well with typical white wine food items, and will stand up to heavier spice and rich sauces as well. Looking at you Louisianna.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Randy Hester
Years Angel-funded: 2016-17
- When the Napa Earthquake struck Randy's barrel storage, he lost an unimaginable amount of wine. Angels rallied around this talented young winemaker and gave him the money he needed to make it to the next vintage and he is eternally grateful for your support!
- Randy spent years behind the curtain producing wine at some of the most enigmatic cult wineries in California that have people waiting in line for years to spend $100+ a bottle. Now he runs his own successful wine company, Lightning Wines, and splits his time between CA and his home state of Texas.
- He learned from legends of the wine world that the secret to producing great wines has much more to do with finding great fruit that can speak for itself than it does with the marketing hype.
