This rare, Italian-inspired red is a dream of David's years in the making
- Tart red fruit flavors like ripe cherry course through each sip of this award-winning Aglianico – a traditional Italian red variety, brought to you by way of Lodi wine country and legendary California winemaker David Akiyoshi.
- Thanks to your funding, David had special access to a rare patch of Aglianico growing in a small vineyard right in the heart of Lodi. After a few years of extra bottle aging, this red’s intricate flavors have reached full complexity – and they’re all yours to savor.
- Aglianico is one of the Italian varieties David uses in his Angel-favorite, Best-of-Class-winning La Strada red blend. For years he’s dreamed of giving Aglianico the spotlight it deserves – now thanks to your support, it’s finally happening!

Meet the winemaker - David Akiyoshi
- "Best of California" in 2012, David was Director of Winemaking for Robert Mondavi's Woodbridge for 25 years.
- He was at the helm of Lodi's largest winery and is a fastidious and dedicated winemaker, the kind you expect to find in the world's most competitive and prestigious wine regions.
- David is a master in an undiscovered region. If you like to taste the next big thing while it's still totally underground, he is your winemaker.
