Morande One To One Old Vines Gewurztraminer 2018
About the wine
Chilean Gewurtz made from veteran vines
-
Whilst Morandé’s story started just 20 years ago, they’ve already secured a clutch of Chile’s oldest vines. So old in fact, that the gnarled Casablanca Valley OAPs produce fruit to a ratio of just one vine to one bottle – yikes!
- Thanks to these veteran vines, and the morning fog that rolls in from the Pacfiic, these grapes are more aromatic than Grandma’s bowl of potpourri! This is a fresh, intense Gewurz that’s packed full of flavour. Think lychee, melon and jasmine and you’d be spot on.
- We’ve had the chance to cherry-pick the best of Majestic wines to plug gaps in our range. This wine wasn’t funded by Angels, so doesn’t carry an Angel saving. But thanks to Majestic’s buying power, you still get it at a snip!

Meet the winemaker - Ricardo Baettig
With a Bachelors from the University of Chile and a Masters from the University of Turin, Ricardo doesn’t mess around when it comes to wine.
- Italy is one of his favourite countries and he was a consultant winemaker there for many years in places such a Tuscany, Piedmont and Friuli. Now he adds his serious know-how to delicious Chilean fruit.
- As important as varieties like Cinsault, Carignan and Garnacha are to him, nothing is more important than his three children! He’s a true family man, avid reader, music lover and outdoor sports enthusiast and we are so lucky to have him onboard.
