Lopez de Haro Rioja Blanco 2018
About the wine
Smooth, complex and fruity white from the heart of Rioja
- Winemaker López de Haro hand-harvests the grapes, bunch by bunch, from a selection of old Viura vineyards nestled in the foothills of Rioja’s Tolono Mountains.
- Choc-full of fresh juicy pineapple, plush vanilla and a slither of almond, it has a long, balanced finish and leaves no question as to why it’s won awards for cracking value for money and lip-smacking taste.
- We’ve had the chance to cherry-pick the best of Majestic wines to plug gaps in our range. This wine wasn’t funded by Angels, so doesn’t carry an Angel saving. But thanks to Majestic’s buying power, you still get it at a snip!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Raul Acha
Raul’s family has been manning the vineyards of Rioja for over 5 generations and he jokes that he was ‘born eating grapes’. Don’t worry, we raised an eyebrow at this too but apparently it’s a tradition in Spain to eat 12 grapes at midnight to ring in the New Year!
- Raul is in his element amongst the vines and hasn’t missed a single harvest since he was 6 years old. He strives to make wines that represent not only the land but also the history and traditions of the place he calls home and has a particular soft spot for Garnacha.
- Despite winning a number of awards over the years, Raul says that the best prize will always be seeing people drinking and enjoying his wines. It just doesn’t get any better than that. Amen to that, Raul!
