Wadworth have been brewing beer in Devizes since 1875. Founded by Henry A Wadworth, the business passed to his founding partner John Smith Bartholomew and is now in the 4th generation of management by the Bartholomew family. The Victorian tower brewery is a landmark in the centre of Devizes and the brewery site combines a tradition of craft with modern production techniques and systems. Pubs signs are hand painted in our sign shop, wooden barrels are maintained in the cooperage and the Wadworth Shire Horses deliver daily around the town. Our skills and craft are important to us, but this is all backed up by a state of the art Steinecker brew house ensuring that our beers are the highest quality and consistency possible. In addition to the brew house we operate in excess of 240 pubs - some award winning - pubs in a radius of 80 miles from the brewery in a place we call "Wadworthshire”. Our estate is split between tenanted and managed pubs and we work hard with our partners to ensure that our pubs offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellent quality food and drink to meet the needs of their customers.
