Positioned at 1531 feet above sea level Wanlockhead is renowned for its stunning scenic beauty, its historic lead mining and to this day its gold! Pint of Lola Rose For over 13 years The Wanlockhead Inn has been owned and run by the McKelvey family. In 2014 Dean McKelvey embarked on the journey to fulfil his passion for real ales and to create The Lola Rose Brewery and a range of handcrafted premium Scottish ales. Named after his daughter The Lola Rose Brewery is an independently owned family business situated at the Wanlockhead Inn and prides itself on the quality of the beers it produces and the service it provides. Now launched as a bottled conditioned Red Ale, 1531 is also available on draft along with 1531 Blonde and Stout. We are also developing a number of core beers and a number of seasonal specials and some limited edition one off brews.
