A not so distant time ago, every castle, house or farm had its own home made beer or 'ale', as it was called. Brewing was part of the daily kitchen running, providing safe and nutritional drink to the household. The ingredients would have been very simple: water, barley, wheat and herbs in earlier times, hops later. The water would have come from the local well, the remaining ingredients from the local fields. At R&R we believe in tradition. Our ale is all "local"; the water, malt and hops come from a 30 mile radius from the brewery and its recipe is inspired by the Kent farming tradition. We are a proud member of the "Produced in Kent" association as well as of The Society of Independent Brewers (SIBA) We are a young and vibrant family enterprise, stemmed from the founders' passion for Traditional English Ales and some very sensitive Italian taste buds.
