Everyone is aware of the hugely influential music of Nirvana and its iconic front man Kurt Cobain. But not many people are aware that Kurt could trace his roots back to the village of Carrickmore in County Tyrone - home of Pokertree Brewing Company. Kurt died over 20 years ago so we decided to honour his memory and his links with Tyrone with a big beer. Dark Nirvana is that beer - a 6.5% dark cascadian ale dry hopped with 4 different types of hops and with a complex malt bill including smoked malt and roasted barley topped off with a shot of real espresso coffee. We think this beer plays a suitable tribute to one of the greatest musicians of all time.
