Sultry, plush Shiraz from your go-to expert of South Australia
- Sam’s signature Shiraz is an intense rush of luscious red fruit flavors with a rich, plush texture and just a touch of oaky spice on the long, long finish. For Australia’s hallmark red wine from a Down Under legacy winemaker, you’ve come to the right place.
- With the help of your funding, Sam selected his Shiraz from a handful of top-notch vineyards sprinkled throughout his home region of Victoria in South Australia, where some of the country’s most coveted Shiraz grows.
- Take it from Sam, nothing goes better with “the barbie” than a big, powerhouse Shiraz. For a perfect summertime pairing, a char-grilled steak is just the ticket.
Best before
I like the brightness of flavor and plush texture of this wine, so will quietly encourage people to drink it as a relatively young wine, say over the next 1-2 years. But I know there are some people who will enjoy it with enough age that the complex, savory flavors have time to develop. This is a long-winded way of saying....can be enjoyed now, but has the capacity to age 3-5 years!
Serving advice
Serve at a coolish room temperature of say around 60-64º F.
Food match
My wife Bron is good at this stuff and suggests paella so long as it has smokey chorizo, or sticky BBQ spare ribs. These aren't local foods, but Australia as a nation with lots of immigrants is happy to borrow from any culture or cuisine!
