Spicerack Red Rhône Blend 2018
About the wine
Bold, thirst-quenching red blend from the finest corners of California
- Rich, velvety and perfectly juicy, this ravishing red blend is bursting with tantalizing tastes of dark berry flavors for the ideal balance of complexity and fun.
- Winemaker Jonathan Pey perfected this Rhone-style blend of Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache, with grapes from sustainably farmed sites up and down the California coast.
- Let this red whisk you away with its enchanting layers of flavor. Pey says, “Imagine a warm summer night in the south of France, and the smell of rosemary, sea spray, lavender and more wafting around.” One sip and you’re there!
Best before
If we explore what makes wine improve with age, this Spicerack "Red Rhone Cuvee" has them in spades; deep color, great density, good fruit, excellent acid balance, sweet, savory and high-quality tannins. It'll go five years easy. More? Dunno - let's calendar a date in 2025 and taste again. Deal?
Serving advice
Crack it and decant it at least an hour before serving. Don't serve it too warm, maybe 10 minutes in the fridge to keep it cellar temperature.
Food match
Get a couple paper bibs, a roll of paper towels and do some slow roasted Kansas City style BBQ babyback pork ribs. Fall-off-the-bone delicious!
