About the wine
Scott did everything to preserve the fruit on this delicate, beautiful Russian River Chardonnay
Scott McLeod, your Angel-funded winemaker, says:
- "Long and delicate, the wine is a beautiful example of a low-oaked style of cool climate Chardonnay. Beautiful pale yellow color with a hint of green on the rim. There is an immediate sense of freshness with this wine, and the palate opens to a mix of ripe fruit and luscious honeysuckle. Oak is in the background playing a very supportive role thus allowing the true Chardonnay grape character to hold center stage."
- "Vineyards dictate winemaking style. For this Russian River Valley Chardonnay, the delicacy of the fruit had to be protected at all costs. Whole-cluster pressing at low pressures allowed for gentle juice extraction from the grapes. After that, a cold fermentation in neutral oak and stainless tank preserved the elegant characteristics of this Chardonnay."
- "RRV Chardonnay commands a high price (as it should) and a wine of this caliber would sell for $30 to $40 easily. But you funded a winery where multiple winemakers can produce multiple wines and that's unique in the business. If each winemaker had to go out and create their own winery and sell their own wine, the costs would be prohibitive. Angels help us create great wines from high caliber parcels and appellations at very fair pricing."

Meet the winemaker - Scott McLeod
- When Scott Mcleod said he would make a wine exclusively with Angel funding, everybody in Napa was talking. This guy is seriously famous – after all, he was at the helm of Francis Ford Coppola's flagship Rubicon wine and helped create one of the Valley's most iconic wines.
- And he's incredibly passionate. Scott's actually got his own vineyard now in a beautiful region that he thinks could be more famous than Napa one day.
- And Angels are funding him to make beautiful wines. Besides working for famous directors like Coppola and George Lucas, Scott is just an incredibly talented and passionate winemaker. You're going to love everything he does.
