About the wine
Single-vineyard red from the most famous corner of Portugal
- Bold and intense, this fruit-filled red has real Old World finesse, a decadent sip of Portugal’s finest.
- Your funding helped Oscar and Claudia bring this spectacular Touriga to life from Portugal’s famed Douro region, where vines on steep hillsides produce rich, concentrated grapes.
- The Quevedo family has been working the vines in Douro for over a century, and now you get to bring home that family tradition for an insiders-only price.
Best before
You can start drinking it now to enjoy the fruit driven expression, but you can also be patient and wait a few years. Tannins will get tamed, the fruit will slowly leave place to a more complex pallet of aromas. First 5 years on the primary fruit, 5-10 years the tannins will get tamed and some secondary flavours will arrive, 10+ years the wine should have integrated its tannins and start display mostly secondary flavours.
Serving advice
If you open it now, you can pour the wine in the decanter just to give it some air. It will help to open up the aromas. If you decide to keep it in your cellar for a few years, it will throw sediments, so it will be a good idea to decant before serving.
