About the wine
This Pinot is the epitome of California cool (climate, that is)
- This is a "take me away" kind of Pinot Noir - with rich wild blackberry flavors and woodsy aromas, it's like a misty trail hike along the Sonoma coast.
- Your funding helped Matt access a spectacular vineyard neighboring the San Pablo Bay - one of the coolest around (literally). The site has perfect conditions for delicate Pinot grapes to ripen slowly and evenly.
- The extra-silky texture comes from a robust aging program. Matt took his careful time to make this Pinot one of his best, but you're nearly out of time to get your hands on a bottle. Just 1000 cases produced!
Best before
This Pinot is delicious now and will continue to improve for 5+ years.
Serving advice
Serve this wine at around cellar temperature, about 56ºF.
Food match
Besides Pinot Noir and pizza being the ultimate pairing, seared duck is also a huge hit!
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Matt Iaconis
- This rocket scientist was studying to be an astronaut before he decided wine was even cooler than space. So he dropped aeronautics and picked up a degree in winemaking from UC Davis.
- And he dropped conventional distribution just as quickly! When he saw the power of Angel funding, he immediately signed up, eager to create better wines at better prices.
- Angel funding allows this hugely talented and driven individual to apply all his attention to making the best wine possible. Whether he’s keeping it classic with big, bold Cabernet or putting a fresh, vibrant spin on traditional whites, you freed Matt to make show-stopping wines for an incredibly delicious price.
