Lay of the Land Sauvignon Blanc 2013
About the wine
88% would buy it again
- Mike made award winning wines at a top New Zealand winery until we gave him the opp to go it alone. Now he has, this is the first of his wines for us. And we love it.
- He's a Sauv Blanc specialist, so we're talking classic grassy, green, gooseberry laden fruit flavours, with a shock and awe approach to the term 'refreshing' that mainlines a citric buzz to the central nervous system.
- Crab linguine. Bottle of this. Unbelievable.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Mike Paterson
- Mike used to be the Head Winemaker at one of New Zealand's finest, most prestigious Sauvignon Blanc wineries.
- He loved the job, but he also loved the idea of fulfilling his life-long dream of going it alone. Only problem was, the financial equation was "beyond scary" (as Mike put it!).
- That's where we (and our 100,000 Angels) stepped in. We've funded Mike to go it alone on one tiny, simple, lovely condition: he makes you some absolute stunners in the wine department. And from what we've tasted so far he's been true to his word...
