About the wine
Oregon Pinot with historic roots!
This primo Pinot from esteemed Oregon winemaker Ken Wright is delicate, yet mouthfilling – lingering longingly sip after sip with lightly spiced berry flavors like cherry, strawberry and raspberry.
With Angel support, Ken harvested Pinot from a few of the Willamette Valley’s original Pinot vineyards (planted in 1966!) in the subregion of Dundee Hills. It’s a Pinot frontier Ken was one of the first to champion – here, he knows the fruit is outstanding, and he’s deftly guided it into a masterpiece.
“This wine is a perfect introduction to the place that originally put Oregon on the world stage of compelling Pinot Noir,” says Ken. Stock up and savor Oregon Pinot history.
Best before
To enjoy the wine during its youthful, primary fruit-driven profile, I recommend 1-3 years of aging. For the development of secondary aromatics, I recommend 3-8 years and more.
Serving advice
If opened in the first few years, decanting helps the wine develop quickly. If opened with several years of cellaring, simply allow a few minutes of being opened before enjoying.
Food match
Incredible with game birds or a Chanterelle mushroom tart.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ken Wright
Ken’s name is synonymous with Willamette Valley. As one of its pioneers, he was pivotal in the region’s growth and evolution. He helped put Oregon Pinot Noir on the map. Literally.
Ken launched his career in California, but Oregon won his heart before the rest of the world knew of its greatness. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate designated his – and only his – Oregon winery as ‘Outstanding.’ He is the only Oregon winemaker to grace the cover of Wine Spectator. And now, a true legend of Oregon wine is moving to a new digital era – with you.
With Angel support, Ken can educate and communicate directly with you, delivering the pleasure of world-class Willamette Valley Pinot Noir to your doorstep.
