About the wine
Bold, sultry old-vine Syrah straight from the South of France
- This juicy, mouth-filling Syrah gushes with refined dark fruit flavors and a lush, rich smoothness.
- With your funding, Katie hand-harvested Syrah from dry-farmed, 45-year-old vines growing in the small village of Tuchan in the south of France. The organically farmed vines are low yielding, giving the grapes an intense, complex set of flavors.
- Katie makes this easy-sipping red in her winery in a converted train shed – hence the name “La Gare” and the train engine on the label. The low vineyard yields mean only so many bottles exist – take a few home before this Syrah leaves the station!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Katie Jones
- Katie's obsession with wine led her all the way from Leicestershire to the Languedoc in the south of France. After selling wine for other people for years, she decided to pack it all in and follow her dreams, buying an idyllic vineyard perched on a hillside.
- Katie turned to Angels after vandals poured her entire year's vintage down the drain. Thanks to Angel funding, you got her back on her feet, producing more sensational wine in no time. Katie is keen to say thank you with a big Angel savings.
- Katie's wines are seriously juicy and robust, with sparkly awards a plenty... most recently she won a GOLD medal and the Fitou trophy at the International Wine Challenge and 90+ points from the Wine Advocate to boot.
