About the wine
Karen's savory, smooth red is an Italian classic with a Lodi twist
After an extra year of aging in premium American Oak barrels, Karen’s Reserve Barbera is finally here! Complex and sleek with tastes of juicy, tart cherries, luscious strawberries and a touch of peppery spice, this Reserve is what happens when first-rate Barbera levels up.
Though it’s a classic, top-tier red wine in Italy, Barbera is a rarity in California. Karen had a hunch that she could make Barbera just as well on the West Coast, so she set out to find a rare vineyard or two – and prove it.
With a little luck and Angel support, Karen uncovered a single vineyard of Barbera growing in her home region of Lodi and ciao bella – with flavors so lush and fruity and a barrel-aged texture so polished and smooth, this is the Lodi Barbera to give Italy a run for its money!
