About the wine
A work of art inside and out
- David hunted high and low for delicious (and little-known) varieties like Teroldego, Tannat, Petit Verdot and a touch of Petite Sirah, blending them for a positively powerful red.
- Filled with black fruit flavors and a rich, powerful finish, every sip is a memorable experience, especially when paired with a grilled ribeye steak or marinated pork belly.
- Pulling inspiration from these 'inky' varieties, David connected with tattoo artist Zhou Dan Ting, also known as China's First Lady of Tattoo, for the label design, so you get a delicious work of art, inside and out.
Best before
I think it would be fun to chuck a couple of bottles into a dark corner and surprise yourself in a couple of years.
Serving advice
Pour a glass and let it breathe to experience the wine as it absorbs energy from the air.
Food match
The wine is almost a meal in itself, but aged cheeses, Tomahawk steak, grilled Angus beef burgers and marinated pork belly will stand up to Ink.

Meet the winemaker - David Akiyoshi
- "Best of California" in 2012, David was Director of Winemaking for Robert Mondavi's Woodbridge for 25 years.
- He was at the helm of Lodi's largest winery and is a fastidious and dedicated winemaker, the kind you expect to find in the world's most competitive and prestigious wine regions.
- David is a master in an undiscovered region. If you like to taste the next big thing while it's still totally underground, he is your winemaker.
