- My Blanc Barrique is from Grenache Gris grapes from a tiny parcel in Maury in the Roussillon. It tastes very complex and quite oaky, with nuts, vanilla, fruit and toast giving a unique combination of different tastes more reminiscent of a Sherry than a white from Southern France.
- This wine came about completely by accident. In 2010 we had one barrel of white Grenache that was too oaky to fit into our blend, so we just left in a corner of the winery hoping it would go away. In 2013 I lost all my white wine to vandals except this barrel. We tasted it again and it had turned into something quite special, so I decided to keep the barrel by itself and bottle it. I would have never thought that ageing Grenache Gris in oak for 4 years would transform the wine into this!
- We're going to keep on producing this wine each year, and keep the production at a single barrel so there really isn't much of it at all. If Naked hadn't supported us through our troubles we wouldn't have been able to afford to do small production wines like this.
