Michaud Columbia Valley Riesling 2017
About the wine
Crisp, fruit-driven Riesling from Washington's Columbia Valley
Light, fruity and as crisp as a chomp of green apple – this Riesling is the perfect thirst-quencher.
Your support allowed Justin and Katy to harvest grapes from two different Columbia Valley regions in order to capture vibrant, complex flavors. “This is more of an off-dry style where the fruit really shines,” Justin says.
Your refreshing Riesling makes the perfect match for a soft wedge of rich Brie. “The acidity from the wine helps cut through the creaminess of the cheese,” Katy says. (Better listen to your winemaker!)
Best before
This should be ready to go upon delivery, will age for a few years... but no reason not to open and drink right away.
Serving advice
It's a screw cap, just grip and turn. (Take note of the satisfying bridge break...) Temperature is important, too. We like the wines out of the refrigerator for 10 minutes or so.
Food match
Thai - this wine pairs well with curry, and really balances well against a little heat. We also enjoy this with cheese (a light brie is the favorite). The acid from the wine helps cut through the creaminess of the cheese.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Justin & Katy Michaud
Katy and Justin Michaud are two of Washington's most talented young winemakers – the folks behind award-winning wines at Canoe Ridge, Kim Crawford, Covey Run and Coyote Canyon.
They’ve had huge success individually - and thanks to Angels, this husband-wife duo are creating their own wines together (for the first time ever!) They’re psyched to join forces and introduce more spectacular cool-climate wines to Angels across the US.
Washington produces vibrant, fruit-driven wines that you just can't capture in California – the moment we tasted Katy and Justin's wines we knew we were onto something that would give Napa a run for its money!
