About the wine
Velvety smooth and decadent dessert - this is a special treat!
- Doce + Forte = Sweet and strong. This is sultry, wickedly full-bodied and dessert wine. Keep in mind, it's got 18.5% alcohol – so it'll keep you warm and toasty like a glass of Port.
Ana used traditional Portuguese varietals harvested from a 43-acre vineyard parcel in Jackson Valley to bring you a classic sweet treat terrific value. It's flush with intensely ripe berry flavors and warms your belly with spices like chocolate and cinnamon.
A very limited volume of this special fortified wine exists - so grab 2 while it lasts. It comes in a such a slender, sleek 500ml bottle. It'll just make you want to devour more!
Best before
Wood-aged Ports, like this one, are typically ready for early enjoyment, designed to be consumed while still relatively young.
However, this wine can age for a very long time, due to the higher alcohol content- 10+ years...but you won't want to wait that long!
Serving advice
Port style wine should be served just below room temperature, around 60 °F.
My advice is to sip small amounts- it's not like a standard "still wine." This 2016 Doce + Forte has a higher alcohol (18.7%) and residual sugar content, and is meant to be enjoyed as a sipper, or at the end of a meal.
Ideally, once you pop the cork, you should drink the wine within 7-10 days.
Food match
Blue cheeses, a nicely aged gorgonzola, and other strong cheeses.
Rich chocolate desserts (chocolate mousse is one of my very favorites!), or a (few) square of a good dark chocolate.
Roasted nuts and dried fruits.
