About the Montoya Opportunity Fund

Backed by Naked Wines, independent winemaker Macario Montoya has launched the Montoya Opportunity Fund to support Latino/a winemakers and aspiring winemakers looking to grow their success in the wine industry.

How the grant can support your winemaking journey

From education to equipment, the fund is designed to remove barriers for winemakers at every stage. Grant funds may be used for:

• Education in business, technical wine-related courses, or language courses

• Vineyard or winery equipment purchases

• Grape, dry-good, and barrel purchases

• Permitting, licensing, or legal advisory costs for brand or winery establishment

• Wine brand development costs

Grants and eligibility

The Montoya Opportunity Fund offers 14 grants, at different levels of support. The available grants are:

• 6 grants of up to $2,500

• 5 grants of up to $5,000

• 2 grants of up to $10,000

• 1 grant of up to $20,000

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

• Be of Latino or Hispanic descent

• Be at least 21 years old

• Be a current member of the wine industry or demonstrate significant involvement in the field
