The Grapevine: Fresh Off the Bottling Line

Read up on our relocation to Sonoma...

You may remember that a few weeks ago, we announced our relocation to a new headquarters in Sonoma. Well, I’m thrilled to let you know that we’ve reached another milestone — bottling has officially begun at our brand-new facility.

Our team has been itching to start production since we moved our first barrels into the space, but we were at the mercy of the growing season. And now, the floodgates are open.

If you're as fascinated by machines doing their thing as I am, this is a pretty cool process. We’re backing a trailer with a bottling line inside into the facility, then the wine is pumped into the truck where it meets the bottles, labels, corks and capsules, then is neatly boxed and wrapped onto a pallet at the end. To make it even more exciting, we’re sending wine through pipes traveling under the street, from one side of the facility to the other.

I'd love to highlight the team's passion for working with our amazing winemakers to ensure everything runs smoothly on bottling day. We know the winemakers have given the grapes incredible care and attention from the first bud drop, and we want to help carry that all the way to bottling, to the finished product you, our Angels, receive.

The sense of history in this facility is palpable - from the stone marker on the front of the building, to photos commemorating its time as the sixth largest wine producer in the US, even being the only producer in Sonoma County to stay in business during prohibition, making small amounts of sacramental and medicinal wines. We couldn’t be more honored to continue the legacy of producing great wines on these grounds.

The excitement doesn't stop here. As I write this newsletter, we're waiting for our first load of grapes to come in — we do a little ritual of blessing them when they arrive to keep the grape Gods on our side. Who doesn’t love a good tradition?

This launch isn’t just about streamlining production; it’s about ensuring that each product meets our highest standards of excellence (and yours!) while celebrating our heritage of supporting independent winemakers.

As always, thank you for your responses and feedback. This grapevine grows both ways, and we love to hear your thoughts on the latest happenings.

Let’s raise a glass to new beginnings in historic spaces,

Lucy
