This is a blend that is very expensive in the Rhone (called Cote Rotie over there) but Randall's California experiments are a bargain price.
This mix of grapes is really just wacky and it's a great opportunity to try something new and innovative.

Jim found some awesome biodynamic grapes (that's like organic agriculture mixed with a fair amount of wizardry) and you get a huge hit of aromatic fruit from this Syrah.
This is like a fancy Rhone-styled wine but a lot cheaper because it's coming from Mendocino where viticulture isn't the most popular thing to farm.
A balanced Syrah like this is perfect to start a meal off and ease your way into the bigger bottles later down the line.
