About the wine
Sleek, barrel-aged 2014 Pinot Noir from an esteemed cool-climate Monterey vineyard
- This 2014 Pinot Noir is a delicate dose of blueberry and dark cherry flavors, with traces of vanilla, oak and a small dash of spice, seamlessly layered with a sleek, elegant smoothness thanks to a full 18 months of aging in lavish French oak.
- Rosella’s Vineyard is a 25-year-old site originally planted by one of Monterey’s pioneering growers and impeccably farmed to this day. Thanks to the region’s cool climate, Pinot gets a little extra hangtime on the vines here, letting each grape develop an intensely concentrated and complex set of flavors.
- Winemaker Jeff Gaffner started Saxon Brown to champion stunning sites like Rosella’s Vineyard with limited production wines. With Angel support, now Jeff can bring his single-vineyard treasures to a whole new world of eager wine lovers!
Best before
This aged Pinot is delectable now, but will continue to age well for the next 5-8 years.
