About the wine
From a Silver Oak legend's favorite Oakville haunt
- A Reserve Cab teeming with ripe black cherries and juicy plums - yes, please. It's earned the handfuls of wine medals you'd expect from the former winemaker of Silver Oak!
- Daniel created this Cab as an Ode to "Harold" - UC Davis professor and renowned viticulturist Dr. Harold Olmo. This Cab was harvested from an iconic vineyard in Napa’s famed Oakville Bench that Harold showed him in 1976. The rest of Daniel's story (Montelena, Silver Oak, Dominus...) is Napa Valley history.
- Daniel made top-tier Cabernet for the likes of Napa's grand wine houses for decades. Now he’s all yours. Treat yourself to this luxury. Sumptuous, silky and seductive – this bold red has it all.
Best before
This wine is drinking beautifully now, but it will improve with age for 20 to 30 years given proper cellar conditions
Serving advice
This wine will benefit somewhat from decanting during the first year after its release, but I would experiment with it and see what suits your palate. It is delicious right from the bottle as of this writing, but it also improves over at least 3 days.
Food match
I would serve this wine with a rack of lamb, or a dry aged New York Steak, with potatoes au gratin and a sauce bordelaise.
Contains sulphites
