Jen Pfeiffer The Diamond Durif 2017
About the wine
This big-hitting Aussie red is a rare gem - it'll knock off your socks!
- This distinguished Aussie Durif - aka Petite Sirah, will wrap you up in a rich, velvety blanket of dark, complex fruit.
- With Angels’ help, Jen got her pick of premium Rutherglen grapes from two super-low-yield vineyards – so every grape that went into this spectacular red is fully saturated with killer flavor.
- The BIG bold flavors of Jen’s Diamond Durif are perfect with a whole shoulder of lamb that’s been massaged with garlic, fresh rosemary and olive oil, then slow-cooked until fork tender.
Best before
My Diamond Durif is delicious now for those lovers of big, fruit driven, powerful reds. It will continue to drink well for the next 15 years until 2032, when it will soften and develop some lovely leathery and earthy characters, often complexity to its sweet fruit core.
Serving advice
I recommend opening and decanting (if possible) for two to three hours prior to serving.
Ideal serving temperature is 14-18°C.
Food match
My Diamond Durif loves to be paired with red meat. From a big rib eye straight off the BBQ to a slow-cooked beef cheeks or lamb shanks, my Diamond Durif will be just the wine to make your meal sing!
Contains sulphites
