Chris Seifried's Story
"My family has been making wines since 1976. My parents Hermann and Agnes set up the business when they still had day jobs, so used to work long into the night to get everything up and running.
My father, who's originally from Austria, came across to New Zealand in 1970 in response to a winemaking apple job, which is when he met my mum.
Spending so much time in the vineyard as a child, obviously had an effect, as I'm still here today! Along with my two sisters Heidi and Anna � it's a real family affair.
The industry has led me to travel a lot � I completed a Wine Science Degree In Australia during the mid 90s, and have also worked in wineries in Oregon and Europe, before returning home.
It's a profession we're all truly passionate about, and we love the variety and challenge that the job brings. Plus, working in the great outdoors in Nelson, one of the most beautiful wine regions in New Zealand, is a definite perk!"
