Nose strong and earthy, promises to deliver.

Colour another beautiful RUBY red, fit for ring.

Punchy deep flavour, you can understand its price tag over the hum drum of less than a tenner. The Cab bringing the fruit the Franc giving it character. enjoyable wine.

Hi Ben, How are things. What wines have you got lined up for us this year?

Malbec.... I think nooooo, usually from Chile and smells and tastes awful, too full bodied and jammy for me.... BUT here we have an Argentinian Malbec, soooo different.

Firstly not jammy, light and fruity and nothing to write home about on the nose, a little dry and then a herby tone and background spice on the finish, but little length.

You get the feeling this is a French wine, due to these nuances, the Malbec grape will disguised.

I drank this with chicken in a supermarket vegetable jalfezi and rice. It coped admirally, in fact neither affected each other, they both stayed true to form, the wine perhaps a little more earthy and fuller and spice helped by the curry.

Second night it does not lose any appeal, in fact keeps a very young appearance for its 2009. I don't believe it has years of development in it or anything, just take it as it is.

In the end a nice wine, a chance to try a new world Malbec without being put off the grape, though this for me defeats itself as I can drink many other bottles that will provide the same experience and for the same price.

This has been a Samll and Small week, with thre bottles of their excellent Sauvignon Blanc on the empties pile, but today the threat of snow and some very tasty nibbles called for a big, full on red. They don't come much bigger than the OVineyards Trah Lah Lah. We had it with Olives, some manchego cheeses and vegetable crisps as an appetizer before the main chillie and baked potatoes.

This wine compliments food so well, it is heady and tannic and gives as good as it gets. At the moment their is an offer of a free bottle around, if you have the opportunity give it a try!

Excellent malbec. I've been trying a few different malbecs recently and this is one of the best ones I've tasted. Good stuff well worth £8.99.
