Didn't live up to my expectations. Having enjoyed several bottles of Jock's Assembleage, I thought that I would buy the more expensive Penance. Should have saved my money and bought more Assembleage !
I found that the tannings overpowered the flavour and that the final result was too acidic for my taste buds. Still a good wine, but not as good as its cheaper brother.

This is a little on the jammy side for me and not enough spice, but a rich full bodied wine all the same that many friends more than like to drink.
I would have put my money on more Assemblage if it was the same grape as previous vintage as for me it is one of my favourites.
