Villebois Sancerre 2020
Market Price
To show you the value you're getting as an Angel...
We regularly benchmark a selection of our wines against up to three comparable wines on the market. The Market Price is based on the price of those wines.
What do we mean by benchmark? We taste them blind against our own wines, or we use our market knowledge (over 40 years between us) to set an industry standard Market Price.
If you buy one of our wines and disagree with the Market Price, or it's not your cup of tea, we'll give you your money back. For more info, see our FAQS.

About the wine
Taste the holy grail of Sauvignon Blanc, made by one of the region's best producers
- We didn't think Joost could actually make a better Sancerre, but he has surpassed himself - and thanks to Angel funding and sharp buying of grapes by Joost, it's still a steal.
- This is crisp with a capital C and has a tightly packed bundle of explosive gooseberry fruit waiting to go off in the mouth that is offset by a really lovely minerality and an uber long finish. Just so, so drinkable.
- You can't waste a serious Sancerre like this. Splash out on some lobster or a big bowl of mussels to make the most of it.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Joost & Miguela de Villebois
- Once upon a time, Joost was Chairman of the Dutch Stock Exchange. Then one day his world turned upside down. After falling in love with the Loire Valley on a French holiday, he decided to give up his rich city job and move there, to become a winemaker. Everyone thought he’d gone bonkers.
- The early years were tough, and his business almost went bust. But we’d heard whispers he was crafting some of the best Sauvignon Blanc in France. So we took a chance on Joost, and sent in the Angel cavalry.
- Since then he's been spoiling Angels rotten with some of the finest wines we’ve ever stocked.
