About the wine
Angels funded, blended and named this sensational English fizz
- Angels funded, blended and named this sensational English fizz - When Charles and Ruth brought their renowned winemaking skills back to old Blighty, they hunted high and low for the perfect vineyard site. After an extensive search, they settled in Canterbury because Charles thought it was one of the best sites in England, if not the whole world. When uber-famous Champagne brand Tattinger set up their own vineyard just 3 miles down the road, who are we to argue?
- This wine is an example of teamwork at its finest, the Simpsons expertly harvested and pressed the grapes, while Angels decided the blend, label, and even the name! Beora is the name of the Saxon Chief after whom the village of Barham is called.
- This seriously classy sparkling wine rivals some of the poshest in the world. It’s clean and vibrant with zesty citrus flavours and a subtle toastiness. And, just between us, its price tag makes it an absolute steal!

Fantastic with delicate smoked salmon blinis or a sumptuous kiwi pavlova, but equally good with fish and chips! If you're feeling adventurous, why not pair it with herb crusted mackerel or on-trend Matcha Tea cake!

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Charles & Ruth Simpson
- 18 years ago, Charles & Ruth took a leap into the unknown. They quit their dull, corporate jobs. Hopped on the first plane to France. And bought up their own little patch of grape-growing land in Southern France.
- It turned out to be an inspired move. Since then their delicious, Angel-exclusive wines haven’t stopped scooping IWC and Decanter World Wine Awards and rave reviews from wine-critic royalty.
- Their dream was always to return to their roots, making English wine in Blighty. Your backing also gave them the confidence to do just that! In 2014 they returned to their roots and planting their first English vineyard near Canterbury.
