About the wine
Sumptuous ruby red blend from the heart of Chile that will send Pinot Noir lovers into a frenzy
- Luca’s ruby red blend of Carignan and Grenache comes from gnarly 80-year old vines in the rolling hills of the Maule Valley. Old vines = tip top quality fruit that’s much riper and richer than the grapes you'd find on younger vines. This turbocharges the flavours, making for a real head turner of a bottle.
- Luca aims to produce wines that are as natural as possible, that really express the style of the grapes and the place they were grown. He takes a hands off approach, letting the fruit take the lead and really flourish.
- Fans of Pinot Noir and Beaujolais need look no further, this one's for you - it's light, fruity with heaps of character. Think bright, vivacious berry flavours, jammy strawberries and blackcurrant with delicate tannins to compliment the dark fruits.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Luca Hodgkinson
Born and raised in the rugged Priorat region of Catalonia, to an English dad and French mum, Luca got a winemaking Master’s degree in Bordeaux, where he lived in the middle of St Emilion. He’s since made wines on 3 continents, and speaks 5 languages fluently.
Over the years, Luca realised he had to unlearn a lot of stuff from wine school. Like using artificial additives, pesticides, man-made irrigation and fertilizers. He believes vineyards are like people. If left to nature, they have personalities that shine through in their wines.
To Luca, wine is the most social product man has ever made, pure emotion in a glass. A mirror of the soils and location it springs from. It brings our senses down to earth. With Naked funding behind him, he’ll be able to focus 100% on what he’s best at, making his old-vine Chilean classics taste as delicious as possible.
