For small winemakers like Cerina, it's been totally devastating. The best way we can support them is by drinking their wines - luckily we know a few Angels who might be able to help...
- Cerina is a super talented winemaker who knows a secret that few SA winemakers are yet to catch on to. Whilst working out in the West Coast bushland of South Africa, she discovered a handful of old vines - sitting at a dizzying 400m altitude with cool Atlantic breezes, these vines were built to make premium quality wines. Fact.
- This Shiraz is a rich feast of bluberries and deep balckberry flavours with a touch of cinnamon and nutmeg-licked pep in it's step. Warming and luxuriously smokey, this really is a prime example of what makes South African Syrah so darn good.

Meet the winemaker - Cerina van Niekerk

Cerina van Niekerk has two passions in life - music and winemaking - and for over 20 years she’s been making exquisite wines to show off the best of her South African homeland.

For Cerina, the most special part of winemaking is the diversity. Each wine is a unique expression of where it was made and her role is to make it sing in the glass. She picks the best Saffer grapes packed with natural flavour and guides them from vine to bottle, her gentle, magic touch brings it all together.

She almost became a full-time musician, but growing up in the heart of South Africa’s wine country, the call of the vineyard was too strong. Through blending her two passions, the Cecilia Foundation was born, providing music teachers for disadvantaged kids in her Citrusdal community.
