Stephen has been making wine from his family vineyard in the Robertson Valley since the tender age of 17. Winemakers don't come more experienced, or, frankly, downright in love with their work than this man.
He's been with us since day one, 10 years ago, when we started out. Ever since, we’ve sold more of his crowd-pleasing Arabella wines than pretty much all of our other winemakers put together. Actually, to be more precise, in a stacking contest it would beat 226 Everests.
We couldn’t have picked a nicer guy to be one of our first, and longest-serving winemakers... and Stephen never forgets it’s the support of wine-mad Angels who’ve been behind his success story.
When Ben left a safe winemaking job in Australia to move back to France with his young family in the noughties, at first he really struggled. The financial crash of 2007/08 clobbered the winery he was working at, so they had to let him go. He couldn’t catch a break.
That was until Angels freed Ben from the corporate fat cats and transformed his livelihood. Thanks to Angel investment, Ben was finally able to set up on his own and realise his lifelong dream of putting his own name on the label. Even better, he had an advance on his next vintage!
With the backing of Angel funding, Ben has been able to invest more, source even better fruit and establish strong relationships with local growers to improve the quality of his delicious wines year-on-year. With thousands of rave reviews, he’s a bonafide Naked icon.
Connie is a Chilean rebel. She got sacked from a big winery for leading a revolution against the cheap, mass-produced wine Chile was churning out.
Hiding out in tiny vineyards off the beaten track, Connie champions old Chilean grape varieties - farming them in traditional ways and hand-picking the fruit using local labour to regenerate the local economy.
Thanks to Angel support, she’s rented a big old winery and scaled up production. So instead of her juice ending up in million-litre vats, blended into supermarket plonk, she’s able to turn it into delicious high-quality wines that put Chile on the map.
Mike used to be the Head Winemaker at one of New Zealand's finest, most prestigious Sauvignon Blanc wineries.
He loved the job, but he also loved the idea of fulfilling his life-long dream of going it alone. Only problem was, the financial equation was "beyond scary" (as Mike put it!)
We funded Mike to go it alone on one tiny, simple, lovely condition: he makes you some absolute stunners in the wine department. With your backing, he’s been able to make some of the most consistently high-rated Sauvignons in the whole of New Zealand. Kudos to you.
Husband and wife team Bill and Claudia went it alone thanks to Angel funding 10 years ago. Since then, they've gone on to become Naked legends.
Using your Angel funding, the Smalls have built close relationships with grape growers ‘in the bits of Marlborough they love’ to make lovingly crafted gems from some of the best fruit going.
With you behind them, your King and Queen of Marlborough have gone from strength to strength. You’re the reason they make some of the highest-rated Sauvignons in the whole of New Zealand. Kudos to you.
There are legends, Naked legends, and then there’s Christian Patat. A man who turns everything he touches into liquid gold.
In his day job as a consultant oenologist, Christian travels all over Italy helping lesser mortals make their wines taste amazing. That means he knows where all the best grapes hide out, and is in the box seat to snaffle them before anyone else can get their cheque book out.
Having learnt his thang in Burgundy, Priorat and all over Italy, Christian knows exactly how to craft sensational wines, the proof of the pudding in his blockbuster Appassimento, nicknamed the ‘Naked Godfather of Big Reds’. It’s one of our most popular wines of all time and sells out every year!
From humble roots, Carmen blazed a trail, to become head winemaker at a prestigious winery in South Africa. Her wines won medals by the truckload, yet she couldn’t even get a bank overdraft to start her own business.
That was until Angel funding allowed her to finally fulfil her dream of setting up her own winery. Carmen has gone from strength to strength ever since, winning countless awards (including being voted your Winemaker of the Decade!)
With your support, coupled with her sheer passion and determination, Carmen is helping to create a better future for South African children. Over the past 4 years, she’s raised over half a million pounds to feed hungry school children in the slums just 30 minutes from beautiful Stellenbosch.
Rod downed tools at one of New Zealand's most iconic wineries, to set-up-shop alone, and luckily for us, he knows the whereabouts of the very best grapes that Hawke's Bay and Central Otago have to offer.
He has rave reviews from journalists, wines dripping in medals and oodles of Parker Points under his belt, and thanks to Angel funding and backing, he's now making wines exclusively for you.
Using his prize fund from being crowned your Winemaker of the Year 2014, Rod was able to add a stunning Gisborne Chardonnay to his range. Years on and his wines never fail to impress - they don’t call him Rod the God for nothing.
Virgile Joly is almost annoyingly perfect. He's ultra organic, with the certificates to prove it. Dashingly good looking, with a beautiful wife (who fell in love with him after one harvest). Stupidly talented with wine, he has glowing reviews from the doyenne of wine writing, Jancis Robinson.
Plus he's not afraid of hard work. He bottled his first vintage himself. 3,000 bottles, Virgile and a funnel. Now that's dedication!
10 years later, he's producing some of the Languedoc's most sought after wines and we're using Angel funding to help him expand his winery and go on to even greater things. Plus his surname brings a smile to our face every time we see it - what's not to like!

Smart move - you've found the Sweet Spot
Here's a juicy little nugget of insider info…
When it comes to wine, a small step in price = a HUGE leap in quality and taste
By spending £8-£10 for a bottle of wine, you're actually getting more than DOUBLE the quality of wine than a £6-£7 bottle …pretty impressive huh?
Sound too good to be true? It's not. Here's how it works…
As the price of a bottle increases, more of your money goes towards the delicious juice in the bottle rather than tax, duty and other boring stuff that adds nothing to the taste.
So you get a LOT more bang for your buck
These Sweet Spot wines have benefited from the very best fruit picked from immaculate vineyards, oodles of TLC, and a lil' extra Angel-funding at every step of the winemaking process.
Pull yer socks up. Because if these Sweet Spot beauties don't blow 'em off I don't know what will
I guarantee our Sweet Spot wines will blow you away. If they don't, then I'll give you every single penny back. So you've really got nothing to lose.
You started a but didn't finish it. What would you like to do?
