I've been a fan of Italian Ripasso wines for sometime now (indeed I have a couple of bottles in my wine rack. The idea of trying a French Naked version of the same thing appealed and worried me at the same time. My worries was would it come up to the Italian one I liked - it does!! There is a really good nose to this - fruity, plum maybe. I'm naughty and could resist a sip or two (or 3) immediately after decanting it. It has a depth, power and warmth that I really like. I tend not to be a fan of oaked wines but this one shows me how wrong I could be. Left to air for a while it really was delicious. Day 2 and it was still a lovely drink even without food - I could simply drink this any time. I prefer not to rate wines 5 star as you never know what the next one will taste like however I can't come up with any reason not to in this case. This is not "would I buy again" but "I will buy this again" and continue to explore Ben's range too. Arguably my favourite red on Naked so far. I'm even going for "never miss out"!!
