Vidal-Fleury Cotes du Rhone 2015
About the wine
Characterful Côtes du Rhône from the region's oldest winery
-
From the Rhône Valley’s oldest continuously-operating winery (it dates back to 1781!) comes this top-notch Côtes du Rhône. It’s more peppery and spiced than fruity and is screaming out for a delicious, herby cassoulet.
-
Produced under the careful watch of head winemaker, Guy Sarton du Jonchay, who not only has some impressive French wines under his belt, but some equally drool-worthy ones from Argentina and Oz. If rustic reds are your thing then look no further!
-
We’ve had the chance to cherry-pick the best of Majestic wines to plug gaps in our range. This wine wasn’t funded by Angels, so doesn’t carry an Angel saving. But thanks to Majestic’s buying power, you still get it at a snip!
Best before
Best enjoyed in its youth or with 3-5 years' cellaring at most.
Serving advice
Open/decant before serving. Enjoy at room temperature
Food match
Serve alongside Lyonnaise sausage or a herby cassoulet with duck confit.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Naked Marketplace
Every week, on our travels or back at HQ, we come across wines that taste amazing but weren’t made for us by Naked winemakers
At the price and quality, we wouldn’t be doing our job if we didn’t make them available to you. So we list them without a winemaker or a story under Naked Marketplace
They’re generally parcels and one-offs, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!
