About the wine
.
- To paraphrase Michael Caine in that marvellous film, The Italian Job, "this is gonna blow your bloody doors off." Both in terms of quality and value for money.
- Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is relatively unknown in the UK, but loved in Italy, thanks to its smoky, oaky, raspberry and damson mix of fruit and its deliciously soft tannins that make it frighteningly drinkable.
- Don't mess around. It's an Italian thoroughbred and needs Italina fodder. Has home-made lasagna written all over it.
