About the wine
Luxurious, powerhouse Tempranillo - a Spanish classic from a 100-year-old vineyard
- This robust red is a passion project of Patricia Benítez and her debut vintage as an Angel-funded winemaker. This red courses with elegant red and black fruit flavors, backed by a subtle layer of spice from barrel-aging in French oak.
- Patricia crafted this luxurious red from hand-harvested Tempranillo grown in a 100-year-old vineyard in northwestern Spain, where extreme altitude and cool winds help the grapes develop a deeply intricate set of flavors.
- This is one powerful red you’ll want to let breathe for at least an hour or two to get the full, luxurious range of flavors. Or you could scoop up a few bottles and put them away to keep developing over the next several years.
Best before
This Tempranillo can be fully enjoyed now, although it will continue to evolve and develop even more complex flavors in the bottle. I recommend aging it for at least 3-5 years.
Serving advice
In order to fully appreciate the complexity of its aromas and the softness of its texture, I recommend serving this red at about 60ºF. Give it at least an hour to sir out and breathe after first opening your bottle, to the complex flavors show their best.
Food match
This Tempranillo pairs well with all kinds of meat, as well as elaborate rice dishes, baked or smoked fish in a rich sauce, foie and chocolate.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Patricia Benitez
- Patricia Benitez is a bona fide Iberian winemaking powerhouse. She's dedicated years to iconic wineries, like Pingus and Vega Sicilia, to perfect Spain’s legendary reds — with perfect 100 point scores and $120 bottle prices to her name.
- Having achieved most winemakers’ wildest dreams, you’d think Patricia would be satisfied. But she had another goal yet to tick off her bucket list… making wine with her own name on the label and with her favorite Ribera area of Fuentenebro at its heart.
- Now, thanks to Angel funding, she’s finally on her way to unlocking this long-cherished dream. She’s on a mission to rescue neglected old vines in a remote abandoned village in Spain’s Ribera del Duero, to create wines of sensational quality — at Angel prices.
